Daily Life

Oh Amazon, we are so incredibly grateful for this opportunity oh but we sure are not loving this job! Haha, the connections and relationships that we have built here in Campbellsville have been incredible and so important to our journey into full time Rv-ing. So many people were so happy to tell us their tricks of the trade and share everything that they have learned so far. It's been invaluable.

The job on the other hand has been another story. We are called "pickers" in the warehouse. We basically walk anywhere from 10-18 miles a day across a million square foot warehouse up and down four flights of stairs. I wish I was exaggerating but I am not. Jordan and I got used to the walking but the one thing that nearly killed us was the absolute brainless job. We hold a scanner in our hand for ten hours and it tells us where to go in the warehouse and what to item to "pick" next. There is little to no human interaction all day. We are not allowed to bring an ipod or anything to listen to music, so you are alone, in your head for 10 hours a day up to 60 hours a week. We talked to ourselves A LOT, tried to sing, planned adventures, thought about life..... until we were blue in the face. But honestly how long can you really entertain yourself? On top of that we worked from 6:30am-5:00pm everyday. Praise the Lord that my husband woke up every morning with such an amazing attitude. If you know anything about Jordan he does not do mornings. His usual bed time is not until 4am, so this was a big adjustment for him and he handled it with such grace! Thank you baby! Anyways, the problem with this schedule is that we would never see the sun. It was dark when we left and dark when we got out. It was so hard for us especially after living in Hawaii, Tucson, and California- three of the sunniest states in the US!
We did enjoy taking our breaks together and eating all three meals of the day together. I don't know if that has ever happened for us before. So our days have mostly been filled with work, coming home making dinner, cleaning up, showering and then it is just about time for bed. I am grateful that this job was only for six weeks. We made enough money to live for a while and made some great friends.
So if you wondering why I didn't blog much maybe now you will understand! We miss you and love you and hope all is well wherever in the world you are today!
We really enjoyed the bare trees and the way they whispered in the wind

Nashville Round #3

Call it destiny, or fate, or a true blessing from God but while we were at our stay in Campbellsville for Amazon we found out that one of Jordan's closest friends from Fallbrook, Kuntal, was going to be in Nashville for a couple of weeks right when we were around! We did not hesitate to pack up Destiny and hit the road for our days off! Our little campground is only a little over three hours from Nashville and we couldn't wait to see Kuntal. He is an incredible artist and even more amazing friend who travels the world..... literally! He just got in from a stay in Berlin, Germany. And we caught him just before he went back to Cali, then to India and back to Germany. It was incredible the timing in all of this. The sunsets have been incredible as winter sneaks up on us. The drive was wonderful. The time spent was even more so. Kuntal showed us all the local spots- before his world travels he had been living in Nashville for a couple of years (I think!).
I really cherished this time because although Jordan and Kuntal were very close, like brothers, I had yet to spend much time with him. Of course we knew each other and seen each other often when he was living in Fallbrook but I never got the chance to truly get to know him. This trip was perfect for that. And honestly, Kuntal is a contagious, passionate, loving, and wonderful human being. I can see why my husband has cherished him all these years. It was such a fun time. Here is some of Kuntals work as of late. http://kuntalpatel.com/

We met a lot of artists and very right brained individuals. Jordan was in absolute heaven. I, on the other hand, being a very left brained individual felt very out of place. But I just sat back and began to truly appreciate the people and the city around me. I am not skilled in arts or music or much really, but I have truly come to an appreciation of those who can convey emotion, feelings and life into canvases, photos, or otherwise. Even us lefty's can really thrive in this kind of environment. We went to dive bars, local coffee shops, road around town in Destiny, took lots of walks......
Jordan and I have absolutely fell in love with Nashville. Actually we are quite convinced we will live here at some point, for some amount of time, eventually. And we are afraid to say that if any of our family members would come here they would fall in love with this town too! It feels like it was never meant to be a big city, so there are houses and businesses all intertwined. You can walk to any of the things that you need. Benefits of a small home-grown town with the conveniences of a big city. And the culture here is fantastic. There is so much history here that you can nearly feel it bursting from the ground. And next to no one was who lives here is actually from here, they're all transplants. Transplants feeding off the energy and soul of a city with an incredible past. Even the air is full of inspiration and the people are kind........ I haven't even begin to speak of the houses and the architecture. Awww, Nashville why did your steal our hearts like this!

We were also so fortunate to be connected to one of Kuntal's closest friends Cody. He lives here currently and we have been spending lots of time with him. It has been such an incredible blessing in itself. We are all family now and are so grateful for all of these connections and relationships.

Guess...... we have to get back to work now! Driving home to Kentucky just sounds awful after our incredible three day weekend! Only a few weeks left and then we are free to wander again!
Just a little glimpse of the sky

sorry....

This job is kicking our butts, well mostly it's just taking up

all of our time. We work all day, come home make dinner and

then it's basically off to bed. We have things to share but it

will have to wait! Much love to you all! Hope that you're

finding time to be thankful this Christmas season and

remembering what it is all about!

Nashville Round #2

We headed back down to Nashville for our days off to run a few errands. Campbellsville isn't much of a town, plus we wanted to go for an adventure! It was fun to catch up with our friend from Fallbrook and we stopped in real quick at Centennial Park. It was a beautiful day in the sunshine and much needed day out!

Amphitheatre! Such a rad view the state Capitol building!

Sitting in the amphitheatre! Fall was giving us her best colors before she
surrendered to winter!

I love the colors!

My handsome!
Guess he snuck in a shot of me too!

My maiden name!

Funny story here- the man we met in Joshua Tree wrote some famous
songs with Mae Axtons son. She wrote songs for Elvis and others.
Kinda fun to see her name here!
They had some really awesome memorials here!

Gumby believes!

Destiny loves fall too!

They had an incredible farmer's market right next to the park!

Beautiful apples!

They turned out a little better than the ones in our
garden this year! haha, like three times the size!

A view of the whole park!

playing in the water when I realized my boots
were no longer waterproof!

My husband is incredible! I love this lighting!

We had such a wonderful day and can't wait for more little adventures. It is hard to squeeze them in these days after a 50 hour work week where we walk over 50 miles each. Most of our days off are spent with our feet up in our pajamas! But we are already getting excited for what's to come after Amazon. We are attending a job fair on Monday, and hoping to score something in Yellowstone for the summer. We will be taking some time off to travel in Jan and Feb before we come home to Cali for a two months! Jordan is in a few weddings and we are excited to spend time with our family and catch up with our nieces and nephews!

Thanksgiving!

Our First Thanksgiving together in 2009
Kauai, Hawaii

We had a potluck feast at Small Town Coffee with a
bunch of neighbors and friends

Our Second Thanksgiving, 2010
Tucson, Arizona

I decorated and cooked the whole meal just for the two of us!
We watched football all day long

The Spread!!!

Our Third Thanksgiving, 2011
Kauai, Hawaii

Jordan, Eric and everyone we knew had to work this year.
So we took the morning to deep fry a turkey,
catch some football and eat a few traditional dishes

Our Fourth Thanksgiving, 2012
Campbellsville, Kentucky

This year the campground we are staying at had a potluck!
It was nice to eat all the traditional foods without having to make
them all in the motor home! We just relaxed all day and
watched some football!

Very serious when we watch football!
I guess you could say our Thanksgiving tradition is to spend it in a different place every year with different people! Although we always miss our families a lot at this time of the year we have tried our best to make the most of it! We are so thankful for all the opportunities that have come our way!
