Highway 62

10-16-12
It was a day of driving and exploring new roads. We enjoyed the two lane highway, the slow pace, and the scenery. As the day continued on the unrelenting desert heat contined as well. The blue of that cold river proved too hard to resist and we decided to stay on the California/Arizona border to enjoy the river. Thanks to the Cote's membership we were able to stay at the Emerald Cove Resort with full hookups, a pool, and showers for only $6.00. It was wonderful to catch up on things, give Destiny a break from the road, and relax. Maybe tomorrow we will get farther east!

Iron Mountain Road sign post. We'll definitely be adding a sign on here one day.

Every corner of the gas station had shoes hanging from it

probably was a cool house back in the day

When Destiny was born this gas station was fully operational... 24 years later this is all that remains

leaving our mark in Rice, California

This old fence was covered in clothes, shoes, hats, etc....

can you see all the decorations?

Headed into Parker, Arizona

Praise the Lord!!!!! Gas was only $3.84
We couldn't resist the river... made a pit stop for the night at Emerald Cove Resort. We were the youngest couple there by 30 years!
Colorado River.

Great happy hour special, $3.00 pitchers and $1.00 endless popcorn
