As we head out to Nashville we decided to break up the trip a little bit and stop in Memphis. We stopped here on our way out to Kentucky and went to Beale Street. This time we decided to walk down on the Mississippi banks. The Big Muddy is just SO BIG! I mean you read about it in your history books all through grade school and then again in high school, but being right there on the river bank really puts it into perspective. We were in driving mode so we continued on the road after our lovely walk and a quick tour through the Memphis museum.

Oh Nashville, you always treat us right! We took our typical 2 day journey and made it to town just in time to hang out with our friend Cody. He made us some AMAZING delicious homemade pizza. It was fun to catch up on the past month of each others lives. We headed back to our home base (Walmart) for the evening when we pulled in and Jordan went outside to check the bikes and generator. When he looked at the top of the motor home he noticed that somehow we manage to tear half of our roof rack completely off. Luckily our roof bag; with the spare tire, firewood, and tent stayed on. How did we not hear that? You would think you would know if you hit something!!! I'm guessing it was probably me... but instead of being mad, we laughed it off. That is something that we have been learn on this trip of ours. It seems like everyday something goes wrong so you can either be mad a lot or learn to laugh and become a problem solver, Anyway we woke up Thursday morning to check in at the flea market and get our booth. We basically just set up tables and left so we could spend the afternoon fixing the roof rack and doing laundry. Jordan and Cody went to a local concert that night to see Humminghouse (
http://www.humminghouse.com/ Good old Nashville roots. YOU GOTTA CHECK 'EM OUT, they are amazing!), while I had some alone time and did some grocery shopping. We all had a great night!
The flea market went Friday through Sunday. We have never done anything like this before so it was a little intimidating at first. Luckily, Friday is a really slow day and we had good neighbors to teach us some tricks of the trade. The guys on the right of us sold their hand made soap. It was awesome! Not only did we get some of their products, but they gave us so many tips for flea markets and also gave us his book with all of his recipes autographed and all. You should check out their store online! (

The bummer is we didn't make much either... Oh well, it was a really fun experience where we got to meet people in a whole different walk of life. I think if we do it again we would have much more success. Bottom line flea markets are all about low cost which for a vendor means you have to sell a large quantity to make a profit.

Goodbye Nashville |
Before we head out to Missouri we stopped at Cody's to say goodbye. We won't be back in Nashville for who knows how long. His mom shared her family secret recipe and cooked us dinner. It was a delicious take on enchiladas. We are so grateful for their kindness. Now we are off to Missouri hoping to outrun some storms. Poor Destiny hates the rain!
