Ranch

The ranch continues to bless us more than we imagined. Like always we head to our next destination with a certain expectation and every new place we go, we get blown away by the outcome. We envisioned ourselves at the ranch fully relaxing, writing music and books, fishing, and resting after our 500 miles of walking at Amazon. Although we have done some of those things we have also been completely inspired to restore the ranch. Which is funny because when Wendy bought it 15 years ago they named it Restoration Ranch. The property is booming with potential and life, so we poured our hearts and hands into it while we were there. We also spent time dreaming of all that it could be. So yes it wasn't exactly what we had in mind but it was wonderful and we are sad to say goodbye. We want to come back after Yellowstone in September.

Over the past couple of weeks we have completely weeded out half the garden, tilled the land, cut back the bushes, cleaned out the yard for the chicken coop, moved furniture, cleared out room in the studio, cut more firewood, and cleaned up part of the log cabin. Although some of it has been tiring it has been so fulfilling. There are so many projects left but we found time to enjoy more conversations, experience a church in Hot Springs, sit on the deck all day into the night thoroughly enjoying a thunderstorm, hang out with Jordan's cousin Justin, fish, and take walks around the property. It has been such an incredible month and we are so grateful for Wendy's hospitality and love.

We are leaving tomorrow to head up to Nashville to sell some winter scarves at a flea market! Wish us luck!
