California Madness

WEDNESDAY
We had nine days, one wedding, two huge families and lots of friends to see while we were home. READY, SET, GO! Jordan and I had already determined two things before we got home- 1) We weren't going to see each other very much. 2) If we wanted to even get close to seeing everyone we would have to divide and conquer.

So we literally parked the motor home and barely ever saw each other or her except to occasionally sleep. After we spent one night with the Cotes and got our bearings straight I jumped in the car and headed straight for Arrowhead. Jordan got a ride down to Ian's house. We spent the next few days with our siblings and their babies. I held Jace every minute I could and caught up with my mom, Martin, Mac and Jena. It was so much fun and so relaxing. My baby sis has turned out to be quite the incredible mom. It seems so easy and natural to her. I also met up with my best friend for coffee on the way home. She never fails me that girl! No matter how short the notice or how busy she is, she always makes time for me. It's something that has become more precious than gold to me. Life away from home is hard without your friends and my soul always needs a little love from my girls when I get home. I am just so grateful for the people who make time for us!

Jord got to play with little Zoe and teach how to have a harmonica parade!!! He also got to spend some time with baby Jude and just hang out with his bro! They are best friends and spend nearly four nights a week talking while we are on our trips so I know that they really enjoyed actually being together. They stayed up all night, wrote songs, invented and built instruments...... you know typical brother bonding.

THURSDAY
We feel pretty spoiled because before we even got home our friend Shannyl put together a BBQ/pool party at her house in Fallbrook. We have only been close friends with her for a few months and she went out of her way to put the whole thing together. I cannot explain the gratefulness and how full it make feel! After driving an extra 1000 miles to spend a week with the family it's crazy to us that so many people can't even drive 50 miles or less to come hang out or don't have time to meet up! Sometimes it's really hard for us but then we have friends like Shannyl and her family and all of our other amazing friends who give us so much love, so who are we to complain!!!

The group at the pool party has gone through a lot of the deaths together this past year an it has formed an incredible bond between us all. It was good to be together and just share time, laughter and tears together. We brought Destiny to the party too so we actually got to sleep in our own bed together! First time all week! DIVIDE and CONQUER!

We drove to the parents in Fallbrook and celebrated Mother's Day with Kellie and the whole clan. I had so much fun chasing all the babies and it was so relaxing. It was such a great day with all of the siblings.

Before we relaxed in the pool we ran around the yard with the camera to snap a couple pics!

They can't believe how grown up she is! It scares them haha

We met Andy and Chloe in Fallbrook a few years ago around the Hooki Lau fire pit overlooking the golf course. I can't say that is the very first time officially met but that is where we really started developing our friendship. Andy owns the Martial Arts studios in Bonsall and Fallbrook and Chloe works as an instructor there. They dated forever (seemed like!) until right before we left on Trip#3 when Andy asked her to be his wife! We were all super stoked for them and we are even more excited because today we were privileged to watch them become husband and wife. The wedding was really pretty and was set up right on the golf course where we all hang out. We were able to see so many people there and catch up on every one's lives.

SUNDAY
Jordan and I decided to divide and conquer once again. As he spent the day with his mom, I drove out to Banning to spend the afternoon with my Grandma Cheryl and Papa Pete. It was so wonderful. I realized that I haven't spent a day with them by myself since I was a child. I guess with having such a big family that just kind of happens, We had snacks and just caught up with life. There was lots of laughter and stories. It was also so fun because my Gram pull out their wedding photo album and I got to look through it and hear all their stories.

After that I enjoyed a few hours by myself. I got to finish some last minute shopping for our big trip to Montana and also just had a minute to breathe! The past six weeks have been insane leaving Arkansas, running home, seeing friends and family, weddings and packing for the summer, I definitely enjoyed this quiet time.

In the evening I went to my mom's house and we caught up for a bit. The whole next day I planned to spend with her so we didn't stay up too late!

MONDAY
In the morning my mom took Mackenzie and Martin to school and then drove out to Oak Glen to meet Martin on his field trip! It was such a beautiful day and such good quality time with them!

MONDAY NIGHT
After the field trip I booked it back to Fallbrook straight to Shannyl's house. We had another little BBQ because Kirsten and Cozy were here visiting! She had just flown in from Pennsylvania for Sam's Memorial. We extended our stay in town so we could spend time with her and celebrate her birthday!

It was so awesome spending the night with some our favorite people! I was again blown away by the kindness of the people who surrounded us. The ones who dropped all previous plans to make the night happen and the effort they put into maintaining our relationship. So thank you to all of you wonderful people for making that happen. Thank you for your friendship. We love you ALL!!!
